Finally got the pics loaded. This is what I started with, after I took off the main landing gear strut:

At this point I simply removed all the rest of the old monokote (metallic blue & cream - really a nice combination) and started working on separate parts. The vertical stab simply laid down when I removed the monokote - it was completely broke in half at the base. This plane has definitely taken quite a beating.

New sides - cut forward from rear bulkhead.

I'm definitely hoping to have this bird back in the air by spring. Don't really know how I'll meld the new sides to old yet - gonna take some mulling...
