That is not correct.
a) In Europe they do not take American money (Euros) and
b) Hate Americans? Well, was not my experience. But I have seen Americans in my travels, that are easy to hate, but you really have to get to know them for being able to hate them...
Remember also that our perception of WWII was very different than theirs. It was fought in their countries, not here. And while we remember, and honor our vets, our younger generations really, and unfortunately, in a big measure know zip about that. They (French) saw us like a liberation army.
I guess all of us have preconceived notions about the Europeans, many of them are dead wrong. By the same token, many Europeans might be in the same boat...
