thanks Flyerinokc and skylark-flyer, i really loved flying my SR. and cant wait to have her up and going again. I have been working on the SR. and LT-40, pulled the floats off the LT and bolted on the wheeled gear that came with. While checking it out , i found that the previous owner had mounted the saito .91 below thrust line by at least 1". It has a tail wheel conversion and with lowered thrust line the prop will just about strike as the plane reaches level. I am looking at raising the engine back up to the correct thrust line but i am wondering what size of four strokes others have flown theirs with? The .91 seems large and a bit heavy for it, but i have to consider that the previous owner added 1/2"-3/4" ply to mount the main gear to, making the plane very heavy. If anyone has any suggestions please forward them on. oh and if you guys are still adding members into the brotherhood, please add me.
