I have been all over this country and this area isn't bad. People don't know but it snows here too but only once in a while and 10 inches is a big snow storm, it's usually gone by the next day though. Did he mention the monsoon season?? We get almost no rain in the winter but we get the storms from about July to early September, it just clouds up and dumps on us for a few minutes then blows out. It gets humid for a day or so. The dry lake bed I fly at isn't always dry!! Then we have to go to the more established fields.
Everything is air conditioned and insulated so unless your like me most people aren't ever in the heat. Air in the car, air in the market, air in the home.
You hear it's a dry heat all the time but so is fire!!
I'm good with it but like snow and cold it isn't for everyone. It sure is good for those old aching bodies though, I feel great come summer but I really love this time of the year.
I have friends and family in Arizona and it's hotter there, not a lot but it is hotter. Here you have things to do 24-7 and there are a lot of cheap discounts and free things for the locals. My wife and I aren't gamblers or drinkers but we love live theater and fine dinning so we are in the right spot.
When we were young we almost moved to Colorado, we were ski bums and we both loved fishing and I was a hunter. We ended up moving to the mountains of central Calif. though. That was also a good choice for us at the time. Lots of nice places in this country that isn't too hot or too cold but this is a great area to retire to.
