I like your suggestion of going with the top of the tank rather than either of the two white spots. For the back corner, I'll place the uniflow tube maybe a quarter inch forward of the fuel inlet and slightly above it as you suggest. I just can't get my mind around the siphoning problem (i.e., cause and direction) as I've not used a tank like this. But I'll gladly take your word for it.
