landing gear retract speed
I flew as rear pilot in the Collings Foundation's P 51 C 2 weeks ago. From the time he hit the switch to gear thump in the wings and tail and green lights on the instrument panel was about 3-4 seconds. I could not hear the main doors close but I assume that the green indication meant they had closed. My electric gears take 10 seconds up or down and battery voltage only makes a 1/2 second difference going from 4.8 sec. to 9 volts. Programming a delay for scale retraction adds another second. My air powered retracts could be set at any speed you wanted.
