Actually, Mike, my reasoning is along simpler lines. Midwest used to make a set of warbird RC planes in the .40's size that were stand off scale easy to build models, sort of like Walt Musciano's stand way off scale Scientific 1/2-A CL jobs. I was thinking the easy to build with slab fuselage sides and bottom. That's where my thinking comes from, although I know what you mean. There are a lot of fine plane plans out there if someone wants a closer to scale appearance. For me, I like the simplicity, sort of the Curtiss "Robinhood" model available some years back.
