Default Looking for suggestions

I am rebuilding an electric motorized sailplane. My own design. Stick and monocoat. I am replacing the brushed motor with a brushless. The problem is the brushless outrunner is wider and a tad longer. I drilled out the older hole in the nose for the brushless. I built a wood firewall to mount the new motor now when i slide the motor into the space provided it is a half inch too long. I could put blocks inside the cockpit to force the motor to recess or just build a new nose. Also since its an outrinner it can't touch the inside of the shaft i drilled out. So i have to inch it back and mess with blocks on the inside of the cockpit till its centered and the shaft for the prop is the right distance sticking out of the front. I was thinking I could use epoxy putty against the inside opening then slide the motor in press the firewall I made against the putty then shift the motor around till its centered and projecting where I need it. when the putty hardens I can screw blocks in behind the motor to hold it in place? I can use wax paper on the firewall so the putty does not stick. also being careful it dosent push into the motor.
