Cool deal, thanks for posting, I like the magnets. I have some and may give them a try, I was going to tack the sides in with hot glue. Super strong and removable but well see once I to the final mounting. As for the wings, im doing Sbus and was going to mount in the area you described, the plug will be forward of the pin. Im hoping to get mine ready as well but quickly running out of time, I still need to test fly my Avanti as well. The goal is to fly them both in two weeks but well so that leaves me a bit for anything that pops up.
Bill, I dont suppose your Robs friend that owns the Mig?

Looks like you are on track for the cockpit, doing what most of the others have done. Mine is split like yours with small magnets to keep it in place. It is a REAL pain. My cockpit was so badly done it was disassembling itself anyway, was going to need a full rebuild. Mine is in as a placeholder. I plan to do a new, better cockpit later once it flies.
as for servo wing wiring, most of the pics i have seen show it routing in front of the wing sweep pin along the curved contour. You might check the other SM F-14 thread, that is the direction I am going with my S-Bus wiring.
Have fun, Hope to have mine ready as well for MS AB. We will see....

As for the build I spent the evening fine tuning the sides of the cockpit and checking clearances, I did have to move the UATs back and shorten the fuel line. I also had to move the front seat forward about a inch, and just before I called it for the night I made the mounts for my sequencer and glued it in just aft of the battery backer.
Hey Drsoles, I was thinking about that nose thing it will not do him any good to have just the nose. He will need the nose with the landing gear in it so he can make the cockpit clear the nose when it comes up.
And last but not least, can anyone tell me what color the real f-14 cockpit is? For some reason I thought it was all black in side but some pictures show a gray color around all the instruments. The Russian blue color must go LOL
