Ibow24, When I built my kit I started to use the 1/8th balsa supplied in the kit. I switched to 3/32 after the 1/8th started to split after wetting it. Mainly used the 3/32 in the rear to help keep it light. So my suggestion is go with the 3/32. You will be happier. John T. Corsair brotherhood #96
