I understand exactly what you mean, talked with many guys about these things happening. Mostly you will not even find out what it was in the end. But at least the gyro usually works if not getting a direct hit by whatever, or burning up. Hey Joe, is it possible to design a gyro that has an oscillation sensor? so that way it could retard the gain automatically? a bit like how a knock sensor works with ignition timing on car engines.
