A friend of mine has a skymaster F-14 painted kit, notice I didn't say ARF. He has had to redo almost everything to make it work at all. The flap hinges were rusted, the airlines had to be rerun once the fuel system was put back in as you can't get them in where they were run at the factory. I made him some carbon plates to beef up the mounting structures so he could put his engines in and out without have to take everything out to do so. I'm sure the loss of the F-14 at TOPGUN will get sorted out and improvements made if needed. But at the costs these plane are rising to and then having to rebuild them I'll stick to scrathbuilding my jets or use well proven kits.
