Default Mxs-r 20 cc

Well I have officially ran out of planes. Man this has not been a great year for me. My go to favorite “Extreme Flight Extra 48” 300 EXP” was swallowed up by the beast we call Mother Earth. Lost to a battery short on takeoff that left her lifeless from 60 feet up.

I have been playing around with Gas and the DLE 20cc for a few years now, somewhat unsuccessful due to not finding a whole lot of planes with full fuselage in its range. I have scoured the interwebz in search for a plane designed for a 20cc gas engine that is NOT a profile plane that is a 3D Plane. (Personal opinion, I really don’t like profiles)

My search came up with an interesting subject, the MXS-R 20cc. This plane is offered by many retailers out there – mostly overseas, but found a retailer that was here in the states……Cough…HobbyKing….Cough. At $140.00 less than Aerobeez, I bit the bullet, despite all the warnings on the webz and past experiences.

MXS-R 20cc gas (??Flight Model??)
64” Wingspan
59” Length
Weight - 5.94 lbs

Requires:
20CC Gas Engine
6 Standard- High Torque Servos
5-6 Channel Transmitter and Receiver
Receiver Battery
Misc Adhesives

To no surprise, there were issues with my order from HobbyKing. After 9+ days of waiting on an in stock item to ship from the USA East warehouse and several communications with the overly useless (Customer Service) Chat Line, I finally talked to someone willing to take ownership of the issue, found that one of the other items on my order was backordered. My frustration came from the fact that the website still shows said item in stock and several communications with HobbyKing did not find this information out.

With all that behind me, my order shipped and is in transit to be delivered on Friday.
A documented build is to follow and I will also try to include all steps performed for those interested in building one as well. The best I can tell, this is a Flight Model plane and the instruction manual that can be found on the international page for HobbyKing is lacking in every way possible. I might, if time permits, write up a full manual for this plane.

I will update the specs for the plane once I receive it and again after the build is complete. There will most likely be updates to the requirements as well.
