Default Hen Leong Pershing M26 RC Tank has a mind of it's own! Can't control it?

Hello tank guys, any idea on what could be wrong with my tank.
I have had my Hen Leong Pershing M26 airsoft tank for a few years and it has always worked fine. I rarely use it but when I did it always worked as normal.
I then had a party few weeks ago and some guest used the tanks ( I have 3 airsoft tanks and I put a paper flag on the antennae and the goal is to try to hit the other tank's flag with the airsoft bb) and I didn't see what they did but somehow they screwed up the Pershing.
When I turn on the power switch, the tank's lights go on as normal but when I start it up pushing the engine icon on the remote control all hell breaks loose. The tank barrel starts going up and down continuously (none of the controls on the remote work after that), then the turret will start to turn all the way around until it can't turn any more. I can't control it with the remote so I have to go to the bottom of the tank to turn the power switch off.
It does this every time I power on the tank.
I tried removing the crystal in the tank and putting in a different crystal from my other tank, but it still does the same thing.
I guess something is wrong with the "brain"? Any ideas?
