I think I'm going to keep my day job ----- I don't think I will ever be able to make a career out of doing dioramas. This is the best I could do without real snow (a white bath towel), and the Antarctic landscape (dirt and a rock from my yard). I just couldn't wait until it snows to go to Colorado for a realistic background in Pah co chu puk country. The color of the rusted stuff in the real photo didn't look real to me --- it was too red, so I used my artistic talents and color coordination skills to cheat and just use a bottle of paint that said "Rust" on the label. I think I got the color of the snow pretty close too (but I didn't have to paint the bath towel).
