Nathan, and the rest of our kids, are going to NCLA (North Carolima Leadership Academy) which is a public charter school focusing on "Leadership." One of the primary way the do this is CAP. There are many ways they can promote and be in charge pf other Cadets.

Also, this program can have huge benefits later, much like Boy/Girl Scouts, when entering the military.

Now with being said... I get the feeling that many students view it as they do band = boring, nerdy, etc. We just had a parent/student mtg with Nathan and he walked away excited. Lots of work now (promoting, physical tests, history lessons, marching, etc.) pay dividends later, say if you are shooting to be a pilot.

It will definitely be a journey...
