or dont temper the steel and use the good old fasioned hammer meathod... if the steel turns blue you made it soft... (i used to do this when grinding chisles all the time) not to mention, theres somthing about playing with red hot metal that is not all that apealing... btw i like my dremel cut off wheel, but you may break a few if you get them too hot. if im wrong here tell me and explain why i break all my wheels.
