I was a safety officer and inspectore with the club that held the Castle IMAA event, we did two Rally of the Giants for them and I went to a lot of events all over Calif. They were trying to get IMAA active again here at Bill Bennett field but right when they were getting started IMAA folded.
If the plans for the P-12 are John Tanzer be advised, the CG marked is off and if built to the plans it needs a ton of lead to CG. I built mine and it came out with the correct weight until we had to set it to the real CG then it took 3 pounds in the nose. I sent my plans to a friend and talked him through the build and his was a joy to fly and required no added weight.
I just got home this morning from the ElDorado lake bed. I live just a short way from Bennetts old home and the runway is still there so I fly there or the lake bed. We were also flying float planes at the lake but now the FEDs won't allow us to fly from the water?? Something about being UAVs? We can still fly from the field they put in for us but not off the water??
When I have an alignment problem like yours I fill in the holes with dowel and epoxy then just redrill correctly. Just saves time.
I built two of those little Fokkers at the same time. Gave one to a nephew. they were way over weight as built to the plans but flew well. I gave mine to a fellow at the LB and a week later he planted it. Very easy build and a good learning tool for people needing to learn to bend wire.
