3rd, 4th and 5th flights done today.
We were scheduled to appear at the NW Scale Masters Qualifier just for fun to show the plane to our club buddies. When I got there I was told your signed up, heres your packet and your flight plan is done, go fly your up at the end of the round!! What!?!
So I made a lunch time check flight then right into a scoring flight. The last two flights were the first times I ever used the flaps! The lunch flight was the first time I looped it!
Well it went well, I scored 90.75 on the first scored flight. The second landing I got a little behind it just before touching down and the left gear snapped the steel pin that joins the strut to the trunion. Luckily there wasn't any damage but a chipped prop. It slowed up faster than I expected.
Otherwise all went well and its settling into being more routine. We settled on a scheme too, Robin Olds Scatt II
