Default RE: U-CAN-DO 3D or Funtana?

I have the Funtana and have flown 2 UCD's quite a bit (taught a friend how to fly with one earlier this season). Depends on what you want, they both have their strongpoints...

Funtana is much more advanced, capable of almost anything you can throw at it and looks great doing it. Mine hovers great, tail touches are no problem, harriers, walls, elevators, parachutes, does a nice inverted flat spin, VIOLENT blenders, knife edges but not great, does any rolling manuever great and is all around a wonderful plane, I love mine.

UCD is easier to land, more stable in wind, could use more aileron area compared to the Funtana, knife edges but couples terribly at high rudder input, hovers easy, does rolling harriers easier than the Funtana (Funtana does it too, but UCD is easier), tuff to get a "flat" inverted flat spin, an absolute joy to fly though... on low rates is gentle and at low speeds is as gentle and easy as any trainer, a bit more forgiving than the Funtana.

They are both excellent planes indeed, the Funtana is more of a "hardcore" 3D aerobat for those who are already 3D capable... wild and crowd pleasing in every sense, less forgiving but much quicker movements (smaller of the two) and looks better while doing most things. The UCD is probably a better choice of you're just starting 3D and want a bigger, more stable, easier to recover plane that is very easy to fly and forgiving while in the "learning curve".

Also, the UCD .60 is a bit big for your .63 as far as hovering and wild 3D goes, the UCD's Ive flown are the .60 sized ones by the way, dont know if you're refering to the .60 or .46 UCD, I havent flown a .46 sized one. Hope this helps some!!
