I agree. I like the look (which is closer to the English Mills di-chromate finish magnesium alloy) more than the 'shiny' case Doonside red head I have.
I wonder what the actual treatment was-it wouldn't be chromate as that was developed specifically for Mg-Al aircraft alloys-and the Doonside case was Al-Si alloy. Maris might know, being an expert on Taipans-or Peter B if he sees this.....
