I took the engine apart today to see what the cause of the cracked cylinder was and I think it was a bolt tightening issue, two of the bolts on the cylider were undone by about one turn. After I removed the cylinder, the crank case was full if bits if aluminium shavings so I have had to strip the whole thing down and give it a good check over and clean. Lukly no more damage inside or to any of the other cylinders. Interestinly when removing the other two cyliders the bolts were tight but not realy tight if you know what I mean. When replacing all the bolts I am going to thead lock them all.
Also the main bearing has got a brass bush.
