Not sure I posted this earlier but my Landrover Discovery blew up the engine last Friday, about 1/2 km from home. Had to get a tilt tray truck to come and pick it up. $93 AUD!!
I suspected it was the timing belt tensioner bracket that had failed as they are a know weak spot, LR have put out an upgraded housing to cute the fault but when I had the timing belts done 18 months ago I did not get this housing done as it was another $1200.
The LR specialists have confirmed the engine is completely shot and needs a new one. Have to get some finance to cover it and if that is successful will be about 6 weeks before I have transport again.
So no flying for quite some time.
