MP Jet .061 are still available as far as I know, but I don't think that they made anymore of the F1J specials. The Norvel, or NV, might not be the quality that it used to be, but there is also a fairly large second hand market to get engines from. My problem is that I already have enough engines to last a lifetime...
Are the sportwerks still active or are they just selling old stock?
It is a pity that no-one tries to make a decent airplane engine for regular users. The VA .049 RC for instance is/was a great engine, lightweight with very nice throttling. I have one that makes about 21000krpm on the APC 5x3, with the stock muffler and 10% nitro.
The factory tuned MP Jet .061 would likely beat the Vertigo 0.07, both in terms of power and weight. Here are some data;
