I don't really care what they advertise as I base all my shopping on what I actually need, not what some advertisement tells me what I need.
The main issue here isn't about whether to have ads or not. RCU has always had ads. The problem is that Internet Brands (owner of RCU) incorporated their new ad system without any regard for it's impact on the content. There are very clear industry best practices for using these ads so they have minimal impact on the user experience. Internet Brands isn't following them.
Here is a easy fix: Put the ads BELOW the content, not to the side of it. By putting ads to the side of a post, the ad then affects content at different screen solutions and when the ad is displayed on mobile devices. Use some common sense Internet Brands.
