Ok, I will look for C3 clearance bearings. I had not thought of that rating. Long time since I struck such terminology.

Yes, the clutch side bearing is a 14 mm wide one. However, at least some of this width is taken up with the special internal seal, so I assume that the effective race width is much less. That is why I figured that a 12 mm wide after market replacement would suit, with a 2 mm spacer fitted if necessary. I am going to cut the shaft off and fit a bearing retainer/crankcase cap.
