Hey Guys,

I know there are lots of guys here running the XYZ 53cc Twin.... I just fired mine up on the LA-7 and it's running very well as it breaks in. I have a CHIgnition set to 28degrees, fresh fuel mixed to 25:1, and just killed a cup on my Align Starter getting to know the engine.

Is there a "Dean Wormer Double Secret" way to fire the engine by hand ? For the first start it seamed to want to be good and wet as there was fuel dripping from the carb after choking and priming it by bouncing the prop back and forth. Ignition off of course... Then use the starter to fire the engine.

I shut the engine down early on the second tank by turning off the ignition. I figured that would leave fuel in the carb for the next run. With a dead starter cup I tried to restart it by hand and now my shoulder is sore !! lol...

Are you guys hand starting the 53cc or using a starter? What's your sequence for easy starting ?

Joe
