I am interested in this answer as well.
I heard it has something to do with the ability of the radio to tell what frequency the module is on, but I want confirmation on that one.

I would also like the answer to this question. I ordered a TP module for my 9C and they sent the TK module. Am I illegal and do not know it? Was the TK actually certified in the 9C?

Also, why can the TK be used in the 9C but the TP can't be used in the 9Z?

What are the differences between the TP and the TK? Is there a difference in radiated power?
