The o-rings on the needles will dry out over time so they very well could need replacement. The o-rings on the needles are really small and are sometimes tricky to find. I ended up buying a couple o-ring kits for various engines to get the sizes I needed. I would take the carburetor to a hobby shop and see if they can match up some new ones.
