I was researching the Schwere SS Panzer Abteilung 101 for camo detail. According to some of the stuff I read, they were outfitted with some (I's) early and mid models when they grouped. I "suspect" that maybe those early ones didn't have it, but you are right, no pic, no positive proof.
You can find a lot of interesting artifacts if you google the right questions (Schwere SS Panzer Abteilung 101 for example, will find you pics and stories not easily found in a quick look).
