I agree. If you tell her up front you may have to "discuss" it for a bit. If you run out and spend a bunch of money without "discussing" it first, it tends to be a problem.
I think it is a respectful thing to do also. I would not be happy if my wife went out and spent a significant amount of money without consulting me either. When I say significant, I mean over a couple hundred bucks.
Without risking being philosophical, that is what marriage is all about.. trust. If you start deceiving or keeping things from one another it leads to big problems. To me, my wife is more important than that new airplane. I don't know about your wife, but mine is not exactly completely thrilled when I spend the money. But, we discuss it and if it is a significant amount of money we usually "plan" the purchase when it is the best time financially for us.
I guess I have rambled on enough. But I think it is foolish not to tell her how much it costs. She WILL find out anyway, she's female! [sm=spinnyeyes.gif]
