Seems like many of these posts are very old.
Thought I would share some painting info.
On clear Lexan or PCV bodies, we use to dye them in regular clothes dye. You must clean them very well in the normal fashion. A little vinegar in the rinse water will help the dye cover even, just like dying Easter eggs. After drying very well mask off your windows and spray the inside with silver paint. The finished product will last forever.
Here is a car I built and painted in the middle 1960's. It has been raced thousands of times and never re-painted. Yep, it has crash just about as many times.
I forgot to mention that an old Vodka or Gin plastic bottle, cut in half, makes a perfect place to practice your clear body painting technique.
