Great points. Would also mention FAA gets marching orders as well, as do all govt agencies, and has to move forward with their directives. As for the AMA, and similar orgs, some people go right to what they perceive is the easiest solution...throw the bums out! We need new leadership, and here's all the things they need to do (which typically involve satisfying one persons needs). With only one exception have I ever seen someone take steps to assume a leadership role in the AMA, and not that much different at the club level either.
Take for instance the whole premise of not only doing away with the leadership of the AMA, they want to get rid of the AMA, as in all of it. I mean, after all, all they offer is insurance right? How long have you heard that false premise? SFA gave that a shot 20 plus years ago and imploded. Not one attempt since then that even comes close to the AMA. And here I was thinking it's just insurance they offer? Can't they take 15 minutes and save by calling Geico? Isn't Jake from Statefarm available to talk about rates and fashion?
Guess not.
