I try to have redundant systems...Spektrum used multiple satellites and dual batteries, My new JR DMSS system has dual receivers and dual batteries. Using a matchbox on a flight control creates a single point of failure on a major flight control surface....elevator or ailerons. I use separate channels for all all flight controls just to have some redundancy. I know lots of guys that do it your way and have no problems....just a personal preference. I didnt take it as a flame war arrow. This is what RCU is good for, to discuss ways to do things and help each other. If we cant discuss things without flaming each other we need a new hobby.
