My friends wife never realized how much RC stuff he had until they moved. That was not a good thing. You are better telling her up front. If she finds out later, your toast.
Why am I not surprised that it "was not a good thing"?

Honesty, and absolute trust in your spouse is essential to navigate life. I say this is a "no brainer".

It's morally corrupt to do otherwise.
