Since you mentioned the subject of creating .wav files, I've always done this myself using some free tools but then I recently saw this;

This has been provided as a free, public service (thank you very much) and is extremely easy to use. Simply type in your message, select the language and it will create a file that you can down load and copy to your transmitter. The US English voice is a good match to the factory .wav files as well.
