Default RE: Unionville Fleet Finch need advice.

I am justing fininshing the Unionville Tiger Moth which is of similar construction as the Finch. I did not like the rubber bands, so I made the wings to bolt on with nylon bolts.

On the upper wing, I just added some cross members out of plywood to the cabane structure and pinned it with dowels. Since the mock gas tank is on the top of the wing, I bolted from the bottom with two bolts in the front and one in the back thru the cross members.

On the bottom wing, I added a plywood post (or dowel pins if there is room) in the front and then added two hardwood blocks in the back to use for nylon bolts.

Just remember to add filler in wings to support the stress of the bolts and I placed thin plywood plates on the bottom wing bolt holes as additional support.

If this is not clear, let me know and I will take a couple of pictures.
