Im pretty sure a 14x10 has a higher load than a 17x6 or about the same. I should think a 14X6 would be a more suitable propeller. this isn't a terribly powerful engine use you tach to see that you are below what ever the MFG suggest as max RPM.
Frankly I wouldn't think too hard about a break in on a Gas engine in a low performance airplane.
