Lipo is fine on brushed motors, but if your ESC is not equipped with a lipo-friendly low voltage cutoff, you need to get a low voltage alarm as well or you will destroy the lipo by discharging it below the safety limit. I know nothing about that truck so I can't tell you if it has it or not.
