Our local RC shop carries the OS GF40 which should be plenty of power for the Spitty, but what about cowl fit?
After some trial and error in CAD I ended up with the following optimal configuration:
- Engine inverted rotated 10 degrees
- 80-degree manifold to fit the muffler in the cowl
- I will make a 20mm prop shaft extension to move the whole engine further back in the cowl
On plan there's only the top part of the head protruding (the yellow part in the front profile) - not bad
