Hoppe # 9 Shannon. Just dampen the gun cleaning patch...not drippy wet. The gearboxes don't have to be spic & span...just clean of debris and dirty grease/oil pal. The Hoppes gun oil is a great lubricant too for TUs. I just have a whole lot more Singer sewing machine oil around left over from an estate sale.
