Not having a set of plans in front of me to visualize what you're saying, I'm going to guess that you mean to say "rib" instead of "spar"? If so, it shouldn't be too difficult to squeeze another rib in there. Are you able to upload pictures so we can better visualize what you're experiencing?

To answer your last question, you definitely don't want one wing longer than the other.
