I bought gas the other day for $1.89 & 9/10 today its up to $1.91 & 9/10. The 9/10s thing is a holdover from first half of the 20th century when gasoline actually sold for tenths of a penny. Gasoline was originally a waste leftover product of kerosene production. Kerosene is what built Standard Oil Co. (Ohio) and John D. Rockefeller's fortune.
