My first LT-40 I put 13~14 different engine on, for sport flying a .46 OS or a .50~.56 Saito would be my engines of choice. For Fly-Fly type flying my second LT-40 had a OS 70 or 72, can't remember which right now, and it was perfect, so I think the Saito 82 would work well.
The only engine that I really didn't like on the my first LT-40 was a OS 60 FSR, it just had too much power and the plane lost it's flying on the wing feel others might like that though.
My second LT-40 had the wing pop off, my fault do to lack of maintenance, I'm rebuilding it with NTM 42-48 650kv/1295W motor for use in Fun-Flys. Sport flying and grandson training is going to be done with my Kadet Sr.
