Wow! 7550 with an 18X8. That's pretty good. I plan on upgrading mine bit my bit too. It will be neat to see the upgrade in performance after each mod. I don't know why, but i've gotten hooked on rc conversions. There's just something about them that excites me. In the long run, you end up paying the same amount, if not more than a "r/c" engine, but you have to drop one lump sum, where with conversions, you can do it a little at a time. I think that the Ryobi will be just fine for my decathlon.
