I have a Christen Diffusion Mirage 1/8 scale ( almost same size). I will fly you plane with a turbine P60-Jet Munt 80 for better performance or a 120 EDF fan...
For control : I use two ailerons and two elevators . Ailerons are coupled with elevator for UP/DOWN only ailerons for rolling .. I don't think you need canards activated!
