Don't be so sure. Mick Burrel had the fin of his Airworld Hawk separate and the fin mount of my Airworld Hawk cracked, I Was lucky not to lose it. The vertical fin former was made of rubbishy 3 ply. It's now much bigger and stronger aircraft grade 5 ply. Both of my Aw Hawks were similarly strengthened in this way and are now trouble free.

I received no reply from AW when I passed on my findings.

I also came very close to losing my SkyGate Hawk, too, on its first flight due to fin/ rudder flutter even though I had considerably strengthened and stiffened the fin mount.

Details are are in the latest RCJI.
