Default Been away from flying for a couple of years, trying to get back

Hello all. A career change has kept me away from flying for a couple of years. More years on full scale planes. So, in light of that. Let me say I had a helper when I first started and he died. So the dumb questions will have to be re asked.

I just built a new foamy with parts from another foamy that was programed in my DX7. May not have been wise but I decided to use the same radio program for this new plane. I have everything working except the ailerons servos. When I try to do the travel thing adjustment both of them won't go down aileron. I can go to the correct screen and change the number but the servo will not move. The up aileron will adjust fine. It is both servos, and I even tried another servo thinking that both servos are bad on same direction at the same time. But the other servo does the same thing, it only adjust in one direction. My thinking is they all three are probably not broken on the same issue at the same time, not sure though.

I called horizon and the guy told me how to adjust them and would not really go any further. He was kind of uninterested in helping any further than that. Seems like he just read the five or so sentences in the book over and over to me. I still don't understand.

Are there other settings in the radio that could effect the travel adjust? He said I could send it all in and they would check it. But I suspect that they would just move a servo and say all is well. I am hoping that the radio is not bad as I have other planes and a heli that I fly with the same radio and they work.

I have other questions too. How do you make the servo go to center? Do you physically move it to center before you install it and it stays there? On my other planes that I was helped with they all move when I turn it on so moving them would not work in that case.

I have other questions but don't want to have them all in the same email as to look too stupid.

Thanks David
