Default LIFE battery as main flight pack.

Hello all, I have just ordered my first electric airplane, the FT sea duck with the twin C pack. Seems nice for float fly events, but can also fly off grass. Anyway, I have only used nitro so far, and am not too familiar with all the rc electronics. I have thought about using LIFE instead of LIPO because:

1:They are apparently safer (has anyone had problems?)
2:They can take more abuse, and don't have to be stored at 55%
3:they can be cycled more times before losing capacity

Some problem that I have thought of:
1:They are heavier
2: The voltage cutoff will need to be changed, I am not sure if that is possible, will have to check.
3: The voltage per cell. This is a big problem.

Fully charged a lipo is 4.2 volts per cell. A life is 3.6 volts per cell of the charger, but goes down to about 3.4 per cell after a few minutes, or if any load is put on it, so I will be using 4.2 volts as full for lipo, and 3.4 for life.

A 3s life is 12.6 volts a 3s life is 10.2
A 4s lipo is 16.8 volts a 4s life is 13.6
A 5s life is 17 volts

Obviously, there is no match. I could use a 3s life, but I will get less performance than a 3s lipo. I could use the 4s life, but if I don't prop it down, I might go over the amp rating on the esc. I could prop it down and use the 4s life, but again, less performance. I could use a 5s life and prop it down, but where do I find a 5s life???

Has anyone ever done this? Any tips? I will most likely use normal life cells, not the cylinder a123, as I don't know where to buy those.
