It is unfortunate these no longer are in production but the NIB kits do pop up periodically, often at very good prices.
I have been into helicopters since the 70's and have seen the market rise and fall numerous times, mostly due to unreasonable price increases. This latest fall in my opinion is due to the 3D/Flybarless craze where every manufacturer jumped in to produce overpriced machines requiring overpriced accessories and components. The entry and sport level flyers were completely ignored.
Some have circled back around with smaller RxR/RTF machines. Quality and flyability in the newer 300-400 entry level/sport machines ranges from very good to pure junk.
Align set out to dominate the heli market with their Chinese Government subsidized products and succeeded. While their quality is high their prices are absurd now that other manufacturers have suspended production. Their average 450 size bare bones kits approach $450-500 now.
Perhaps we will see new sport helis drift back as some of the manufacturers that abandoned the market in favor of multirotor/drones are now dropping out of that flooded market.
Meanwhile we sport heli folks will snap up bargains when running across them to add to our kit/parts stash. My best bargain to date is a recently acquired JR Ergo 30/46 airframe that was never finished by original owner. Airframe cost me $20.00! And it will be finished and flown.
Also snagged a couple of Kyosho EP400 ARF's for $69.99 from Kyoshoamerica.com (still available as of 11/23/16). Can't beat that price!
